Permalink Reply by Jackie Cross on March 25, 2012 at 12:17pm We have had the same kind of struggles getting homework out of students. In some cases, though I know we are different since we have special needs, they do their work on the computer while in class and submit to the teacher via email. They have the same requirements as the rest of the students and must turn off any grammar or spell check programs that are available on their wordprocessing program. This has helped tremendously in getting homework or classroom writing assignments out of many of the students that during first semester were not turning in anything. They bring in their own laptops and know if caught doing anything other than what they are to be doing in class they will have detention, no warnings given. It is already written in the handbook due to their technology class on campus. Just a suggestion especially in this day and age of technology and so many of the students being bored sitting there and will not pick up a pencil or pen to write anything down.
