--and you have up to three edited student samples to share with us, you can post them by copying and pasting them from your computer into our "Reply to This" box below; you may also add samples by adding them as uploaded attachments (like Word documents) to the box below.
Very Important: Please only share your students' first names and grade level with us when you post. Do not post last names or school names, or the posts will be deleted.
Twenty-five Teachers every semester will win a free classroom resource! Each semester, we choose 25 new students to publish at our online lessons directly at the world-famous WritingFix website. To have your students' writing considered, it can be posted below in the box underneath this posting. In November and May, we will select the 25 students whose writing impressed us the most, and if your student(s) is selected, you will be asked to choose from any of the NNWP Print Publications (http://www.unr.edu/educ/nnwp/publications.html) for us to send to your classroom.
Help us celebrate your writers.

Why do we kill?
Why do we fight?
It takes no skill.
You have no right.
Why do we shoot each other?
Why do we bomb?
Just love one another
and we will live long.
It will be a struggle.
It will take some time.
We can just cuddle.
There will be no crime.

Junior English Student Samples for "My Own Two Hands" assignment.
The core cannot hold. Anarchy is the only hope.
When the foundations of our society cease to function
and all the trees are burnt to ash
Only then, can the new wildflower grow
the only beauty the world has ever known,
And in only in the newfound silence you will see the change unfold
the blackened bones of humanities folly
And new rose thorns growing out of the moll.
- Alex
Be the Change
Families become broken, and there is no way they can be fixed
You can see the children crying, the sting of hurt pressed on their lips
Be the Change
All we can do is show compassion
In a world that's all alone
These kids are forced to think that Hell is a place called Home
All they want is a break,
Or an easy way out
Someone to talk to, to figure out what they are about
But they are forced to fake a smile
When they go back and forth to their multiple homes
Be the change
Racism is a topic that regularly comes in in conversation
So many people upset that there is still discrimination
But how do they expect us to stand up in such a prejudice nation?
Be the Change
If you want to see a change, be THE change
Be the change you want to see,
Be the hope to those whose lives are far from easy
Reach out and lend a hand,
Share everything you can
And Be the Change
