...sharing thoughtful, mentor text-inspired lessons your students will love!
I know many teachers from around the world are using my Writer's Notebook Bingo Cards, my writer's notebook lessons, and my Mr. Stick materials. I'm proud to share, and I'm proud that teachers like these ideas I self-publish online.
My students asked me in spring of 2012 if we could have a "Mr. Stick of the Year" contest for May, and I have now established a page for them, which includes access to the mentor texts I am using to promote the contest: Stick Man by Julia Donaldson and Amelia's Easy-as-Pie Drawing Guide by Marissa Moss.

Probably not this year, but I'll bet next year there will be a few teachers out there who--because they too are using my Mr. Stick materials--will host a similar contest. If that's the case, then I hope those teachers will be kind enough to photograph and publish their winners!
Heck, if you just have a kid with an amazing notebook page that includes Mr. Stick, I'd love to see a photo of it.
To post, you will need to be a member of this "On-line Student Publishing" Group, if you're not already. If you are a member, you will see a white box below this posting where you can attach digital photographs of writer's notebooks. If you are not yet a member, you simply need to click on the "+Join Online Student Publishing" link near the upper right-hand corner of this page.
I hope you'll check out the lesson/contest and I hope it encourages more of you to teach your students to be more visual when they create writer's notebook pages!
