Dear Mister Owl,
Please, Mister Owl keep quiet! You make as much noise as a bunch of bulldozers. Every night all my family and I hear is "Hoot, Hoot!" We can't sleep a wink. We know you don't sleep at night, but be considerate to not only us deer, but to all the forest animals. The children, especially need the most sleep of all. They can barely keep their eyes open all day. I know that you have a family. Please put yourself in our hooves.
Since we are deer we don't make much noise. We understand that it is natural that owls make this noise. Still, please constrain from chattering. Maybe you could build a home that is enclosed so we won't hear the noise you make. I know that the other animals in the forest don't appreciate the annoying noise you make. I hope you will consider what I have said.
Your forest friend,
Doris the Deer

Dear Farmer Frank,
I hope you are aware that my mud pen is unusually dry. I’m the laughing stock of the barn! All the other pigs are making fun of me because I’m clean! Do you know what it’s like to be clean while all the other fancy pigs are as dirty as a rapper’s mouth? Trust me it’s NOT fun. Will you please refill my (what used to be) mud pen before I have to hide with the cows for the rest of my life!
There’s also another problem, my food pit has run out of food. I’m going to starve to death if you don’t fill it up soon! Plus I’m a sitting duck for any hungry hawks or eagles. I’m so skinny, they’ll think I’m a field mouse! I hope you get this letter….SOON!!!

Your pink porker,
Peter the Pig

Dear Mr. Principal,
Please let me run track. These reasons will help you see why I should be on the team. I run on all fours. I am better and quicker than everyone on the team. The crowd will see nothing but a flash of yellow when I fly by. If you let me on the team, I promise to work hard and not attack any other players. I will do my best to make sure that we win every single race.
With me on the team we will get a lot of trophys to put on display. We could make it to the championships and win it all. With the schools big winning season, we can be famous and on all the news stations, even Sports Center! I think this is an offer you can not refuse! So what do you say, will you let me on the team?
Sincerely,
Jango the cheetah

Hi,

Here is an unusual friendly letter from an 8th grade student.  It's a bit extreme, but interesting!

Enjoy!
