Writing Lesson of the Month Network
...sharing thoughtful, mentor text-inspired lessons your students will love!
July 25
Dear Mr and Mrs. Hurricane,
I am writing to tell you of your daughter, Esther's behavior at school today. First, please discuss with her keeping her name the same each year. She seems to change it constantly.
Second, she was seen today traveling through the school hallways at a speed greater than 117 miles per hour. This is very unsafe and tends to create very high winds as well as flooding and large waves. Other students who are around her are forced either to leave her path or to seek shelter in a brick or stone building. They even feel it necessary to stock up on extra food and water as well as flashlights and batteries because of the desctruction she can cause.
We understand that Esther began as a small thunderstorm but it seems that the heat from out warm ocean water has turned her into a very destructive force. Please contact the school immediately at 911 to discuss Esther's behavior further.
Sincerely,
Principal Blowhard
