Thank you, Corbett.  I want to share with you that I recently completed parent/student/teacher conferences with my 27 homeroom students.  One of the questions I asked each student was:  What is a highlight of your day as a 7th grader and at least a dozen students replied:  "Sacred Writing Time."  This response warmed my heart.

new to the site.  I was just enjoying Stickman. I'm totally stealing the idea and hoping to find great ideas for 1st and 2nd grade students. I teach 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade students with learning disabilities.

Hi Corbett! I just have a scheduling question. I teach 6th grade language arts and will have each class for 55 minutes a day. I know I'll start each day with the 10 minute write, but I need help with how to fit grammar, writing, and core novels. I.e, time break up/days of week. Any help would be appreciated. Lastly, all of 6th grade LA uses 5 subject notebooks. How would you divide the sections?

Thanks so much!

Hi Corbett,

I am interested in purchasing the Sacred Writing Time slides to use this coming 2014-15 school year. I have a question, are the slides updated each year? Are the 2014-15 slides different than the 2013-14 slides? Will I have to re-purchase them each year?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Corbett,

I have been reviewing a lot of material that you have posted.  Wow!!!!  As usual, I am having a difficult time making a decision, however, I have made one.

I am wanting to do the "Giving Hands & Taking Hands" project.  I have one question: you refer to the song "Brave".  As I am not familiar with this song could you please identify the artist?  Thanks so much.

Here's looking forward to a great school year!

Hi Corbett!  I haven't heard anything else from you since I responded back in July to let you know you could quote me.  I am VERY excited to receive the two new products & wondered when they would be available to download.  NO PRESSURE - - I'm just excited!  :D  I go back to school tomorrow, and the kids come August 19th.  Where did the summer go??  Thanks again for all the hard work you and your wife do to make us better teachers!  The kids definitely benefit, and hopefully leave our classrooms lovers of reading and writing!  :)

Good Morning!

I purchased SWT and you posted the link....for some reason I cannot find it.  Hey! Thanks for all the great lessons this year.  I was able to use some with my class.  They are yet a work in progress because the school I am at was so focused on reading and math that for a while writing was kind of thrown in....but I pushed it a lot and the children grew as writers as was evidenced during testing time this year....(arrrrrgggghhh), yet was evident in some of their creative writing also.  They no longer moaned and groaned and said, "I can't do this" when is was writing time!

Thank you,

I am sure next year will be even greater!

Please forward to me: joemussari@yahoo.com if possible, it's a great resource.

So cool.  Congratulations on knowing when to fold them,  as Kenny R would say.   I would love to visit your school and work with the kids or teachers.  Please save many examples, I  would love to work on that website so we can share with many.

Here is the last song I wrote with Amy Ludwig Vanderwater.     http://snd.sc/KWm8CD

I am doing an assembly called "Force Field for Good" , It is a sort of Star Trek  anti-bullying workshop.   Also doing writing stuff.  The Cabaret is flying high too with many new songs. Carol Glynn is performing with me now.  I will find a way to get out there if they have no money.

love to you and Dena!!!

Kirk is in 6th, Riley is in 5th, and Jacob is in 4th.

Thanks and sorry for the goof!
