I think it's funny how this video is set up in a way that makes teachers seem like the ones stopping the process of integrating technology into the classroom.  As an observer in classrooms all I can say is that a push to use technology without funds to back it up is a recipe for frustration!  Why would a teacher choose to use technology that is time consuming to figure out how to use effectively if it is not clear whether or not the budget will allow upgrades to the system when needed?  It sounds great, it looks exciting, but it's not as simple as teachers saying 'ok fine!  I will integrate technology into my classroom!  That was just the kick in the pants I needed to get started, thank you!'

I just completed an Apple Training Course and through a partnership with Apple and my school district I now have a Mac for every student in my classroom. I am so excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for my students. Now, ideas for using the MAC's in the classroom!!!!!!!

Just what I needed... I am a digital immigrant who is working-but know I can do more-with using technology in my teaching of preservice teachers... I will show this to my students... see and hear their response...and work to incorporate this in my teaching/their learning...and watch how they choose technology use in their placement classrooms (may be dependent upon their teacher...not what they would want to do...) Thanks... Enjoyed and engaged...

Yes, wow, this is powerfully thought provoking. Authors, please follow it up with a video that teaches district level money person/people WHERE to get dollars with which to put tools besides computers in our classrooms and labs. In California, I have 3 MAC's in my room and 27 kids--AND I TEACH IN THE SILICON VALLEY! Yet the district screams "No funds, no funds, no funds."

As a parent educator (with a masters degree), I couldn't agree more. We are with a virtual school in Kansas. Their emphasis is on physical writing, based on the belief that physical writing/keyboarding equates writing to communicate. My dysgraphic high functioning autistic student cannot write more than a sentence in 30 minutes and his articulation is not recognized by software, but he can create. I educate him to think, create, question. The public school trains him to follow orders, sit down, be quiet and equate struggle with school. Thank you for this video.

Very thought provoking for motivating teachers to become more modernized in their approach. how can we incorporate these devices without causing more infractions of our school handbook regarding personal electronics in the classroom?
